Professional Boiler Repair Services
Boiler heating systems are different from forced-air furnaces, and they require specialized expertise to diagnose and repair properly. Many HVAC contractors focus primarily on forced-air systems and lack genuine boiler experience. Air Source Home Comfort is different. Our technicians are trained on all types of boilers—from the cast iron radiator systems common in older Barrie and Orillia homes to modern high-efficiency condensing boilers. We understand hydronic heating, pressure systems, zone valves, circulator pumps, and all the components that make boiler systems work. When your boiler fails or underperforms, we have the knowledge to fix it.
Many heritage homes throughout our service area—downtown Barrie, Orillia, Collingwood, and older Muskoka properties—were built with boiler heating systems. These beautiful homes deserve contractors who understand and appreciate their heating systems. We've been repairing boilers throughout Central Ontario for years, maintaining the comfortable radiant heat that homeowners love while solving problems that less experienced contractors might miss or misdiagnose.

Boiler Repair Questions Answered
Common questions about boiler repair from homeowners throughout Central Ontario.
Why is my boiler losing pressure?
Pressure loss indicates a leak somewhere in the system—either in the boiler itself or in the piping, radiators, or fittings. Small leaks can be hard to find. We systematically inspect to locate and repair the leak.
What is kettling and is it serious?
Kettling is a rumbling or banging sound caused by limescale buildup or sludge restricting water flow in the heat exchanger. It reduces efficiency and can eventually damage the boiler. It should be addressed before it causes expensive failures.
How long do boilers last?
A well-maintained boiler can last 20-30 years. Cast iron boilers often last even longer. However, efficiency declines with age, and parts for very old units can be difficult to source. We provide honest advice on repair vs. replacement.
One of my radiators isn't heating. Why?
Single-radiator problems often indicate air trapped in that radiator (needs bleeding), a failed zone valve, blocked circulation, or a closed valve. We can diagnose and fix the specific issue.
Do you service steam boilers?
Yes, we service both hot water (hydronic) and steam boiler systems. Steam systems are less common today but still found in some older homes. Our technicians understand both technologies.
Can you get parts for my old boiler?
In most cases, yes. We have sources for parts for older boiler systems. However, for very old units, some parts may be unavailable or prohibitively expensive. We'll be honest about what's possible.
